Born into a musical family in South Carolina, Jody began her career playing her jazz-inflected songs in the subways and coffeehouses around Cambridge, MA, recording her first solo EP Volcano in 1996. Branching into pop, jazz and blues over the years, her fifth and latest album, Wilderness, is a groove filled R&B-inspired collection of tunes exploring the jungle of human connections in the city.
